Simple SEO for Baby Photographers by a Newborn Photographer

SEO Simplified For Baby Photographers

If you are a baby photographer or newborn photographer and would like to get yourself out there, you need to consider Search Engine Optimization or SEO. In this digital time and age, people respond to what they see on the internet based on their quick search. If your name or company pops up at the top of the list, then congratulations, you have their attention – in fact, you have already won half the battle.

To showcase your portfolio, you must be putting up pictures online through blog sites. Having a site in which you can display your work is important as you can also meet potential clients through that site. The problem, however, lies in how to get a wide range of people to visit your website. While word-of-mouth is an effective technique, it is not enough. More often than not, people search online and the first few sites that pop-up are the ones that have their attention. As a photographer, you will want more clients – most of which you can find online through SEO.

For baby photographers, this article should provide you with some information on how to efficiently use SEO to gain customers. Do not worry, as the information provided will be simplified. Perhaps after reading this article, you may get into it yourself or hire someone to help you get yourself and your work out there. Needless to say, it is the perfect read for photographers looking to be professional photographers

Some of the factors to take into consideration are the following:

Metadata

Under metadata, there are three (3) aspects that one should always remember. They are the following:

Title

Choose a simple and attractive title as this will appear in the search results as well as the top of the browser.

Description

Explain what the page is about – make sure to engage people with a short story or a short background of the topic or page.

Keywords

Keywords should be included in the web page, title, and description. Use keywords well – it is not the number of times it is being used, but more of how it is being used.

Your metadata is important as this is the content that your potential clients will first look at – it draws them in and it will leave a lasting impression on them. For this reason, you need to make sure that it is near perfect. You want your company to stand out, so make sure you think of a title, description, and keywords that will do just that.

Blog Posting You do not want to be posting anything without good content. Even if you have a ton pictures in your blog, it is useless if there is no good content to support it. Though images can help your blog, these images need to be explained in a concise manner.

Think about it this way: if people were searching for baby photographers on a search engine such as Google, they would want to find something worth their time, right? Google, too, as a company, would like to make sure they find something worth reading. Should Google suggest your blog to the people who need information on baby photographers, they need to make sure that it is supported by valuable content. After all, their company name is on the line as well.

Under your blog post, you must take into consideration the following aspects:

Keyword Rich Topics

While you may have several keywords that can be found throughout the post, there will always be one keyword that will stand out amongst the rest. It is important to use that standout keyword within the first ninety (90) words in your blog post. In addition to that, you must use this same keyword in the last paragraph of your post.

Content

Your content must have at least 300 words. It is best to keep it short and simple. More importantly, what you are writing should be of relevance to the topic. Also, plan out your content from time to time – make sure to change it up a bit so that you can keep your client engrossed.

All About Your Posts

Of course, you must write about topics that you know your clients would be interested in. Do not uselessly write about topics that do not garner attention. For example, for baby photographers, write about “Baby Photographers in New York City”.

You must keep it simple as people do not like complicated searches. Needless to say, they do not like complicated topics or posts, either.

Biography

Make sure to write a short biography about yourself so that you have this level of credibility. You will want people to trust you. For them to do that, however, they need to know whether or not you are well-aware of what you are talking about. Do include your work phone number or email address in your biography so that these clients can reach out to you should they be interested.

Images

Newborn photographer images, you should be posting images in your blog, make sure to let the search engine know what is in your image as the search engine is unaware of the image content. To do this, fill out the information needed before you add an image to your post – this includes title, alt, and description. By doing this, your images will appear if a person is specifically doing an image search.

Under images, you should think about the following:

Image Title

You need to rename your image to what it actually is and what you would like people to find should they google “baby photographer”. A file named HG13GY.jpg does not help.

Image Caption

Use your keywords and describe the image – this should help narrow the scope and help your client find exactly what it is that he or she is looking for.

Image Size

Do not forget to resize your image for the web. This is a must.
